DESCRIPTION

The Primary School of Lampia was founded in 1833 under the name of the Men’s Elementary School of Dirvris. Initially, it was a six classroom school and then it was merged with another two classroom Women’s Elementary school. From time to time, it was called “Prininofyton” as the name of the community and now it is called Lampia School, as the area’s name, Lambia. According to the architect, George Papandreou, it is a monument that functions as a Primary School and a spiritual center. It was built thanks to a donation from A. Syngrou in 1907. It is characterized by a neoclassical, symmetrical, simple synthesis of its tumors, with the top of the roofs being erased by simple frames. Its main face is a pedestal formed by five pillars of square cross-section. Labeia Primary School is a representative example of the early 1900s school buildings and is directly connected with the memories of the residents of the area.
