DESCRIPTION

Tatani House is located on Thermopylae street in Kalitsa square in Amaliada. The building is also intended to function as a Press Museum of the Hellenes Abroad, paying tribute to Petros Tatani, founder of the Greek newspaper “Ethnikos Kirkas”, in America. It is a two-storey urban neoclassical building, built in the first decade of the 20th century, around 1905-1910, with remarkable interior painting, important for the study of the history of Architecture. It was the home of the great Tatani family. It is a symmetrical quadrilateral construction all around free, following the rules of good structure, in terms of proportions, dimensions and thickness on the walls. It is divided into three levels: semi-basement elevated with access from the outside, ground and first floor. The damage they carry is mainly characterized by abandonment and stress from the earthquake. The building is covered by a quadruple tiled roof with French-style tiles. Today, various cultural events take place at Tatani House
